Course Title: English Reading Skills

Course Description: The Paper seeks to develop students’ reading skills and covers the following sub-skills:

  • Guessing word meanings by using knowledge of word form (class), word function, word structure and formation, and most importantly, contextual clues.
  • Understanding ornamental expressions
  • Tackling sentence meaning
  • Surveying text organization
  • Reading for specific information (skimming)
  • Reading for general comprehension/gist (scanning)
  • Summarizing
  • Predicting
  • Interpreting
  • Recognizing the author’s position, tone, and attitude

The reading texts will be chosen from different types of writing like descriptive, narrative, expository, argumentative, journalistic, and academic texts, e.g., History, Philosophy, etc.

Course Title: English Writing Skills

কোর্স পরিচিতি: এই কোর্সটি শিক্ষার্থীদের ইংরেজিতে লেখার দক্ষতা উন্নত করতে সহায়তা করবে এবং সঠিক বাক্য লেখা, যথাযথ বিরাম চিহ্ন ব্যবহার করা, ভালো সংগঠনের সাথে লেখা (সংহতি এবং সঙ্গতি), প্যারাগ্রাফে ভালো টপিক বাক্য এবং উপসংহারের বাক্য লেখা, ভালো ভূমিকা, বডি এবং উপসংহার লেখার উপর গুরুত্ব দেবে। শিক্ষার্থীদের নিম্নলিখিত বিষয়গুলি লিখতে হবে:
